Science Day 2019

The children took part in a range of activities throughout the day. They completed two STEM activities. One where they had to create the longest paper chain using 2 pieces of A4 and 30cm of tape. The longest chain was 7m 40cm! The other was to create a boat that floated and could hold the most weight before sinking. The winning boat held 1.4kg! The final activity was about gravitational pull and air resistance. They were learning about parachutes and experienced air resistance through the large parachute and the running parachutes. They then completed a fair test which looked at the best material for a parachute. Reception children were looking at changes by baking gingerbread and they also experimented with floating and sinking. A lovely day!
