Welcome to Sycamore Class


This half term we will look at the work of Florence Nightingale, one of Britain's most famous historical figures. We will look at her remarkable life from childhood, to her famous voyage to Scutari, as well as the work she did in her later years to improve nursing and hospital care, finishing with the impact she has had on medical care to this day.

For geography in the second half term we will be taking a journey to two cities, we will be studying maps and exploring some of the features found in Edinburgh and Cape Town.

In Science this half term we will learn what plants need in order to grow, thrive and survive. We will explore the life cycles of various plants that grow from seeds and bulbs and investigate how they change as they grow and develop. In the final half term we will identify some 'Super Scientists'.



P.E days are Monday and Thursday. PE will take place outside. Please make sure your child comes to school in their PE kit.

Homework is given out on Friday and should be handed in the following Wednesday. The spelling test is on Friday, please support your child by practising together


First day isolation

If your child needs to self isolate then work will be placed on seesaw every night ready for your child to complete the next day. For their first day of isolation when there is no work on seesaw please use the ideas on this page for your child.
